Sega Dreamcast (94)

Die Dreamcast ist die letzte Spielkonsole des japanischen Unternehmens Sega. Der Name „Dreamcast“ setzt sich aus den englischen Wörtern „Dream“ (Traum) und „(Broad-)cast“ (Übertragen) zusammen, heißt also in etwa „Traumübertragung“. Das Logo (ein Wirbel, engl. „swirl“) soll die Erweiterbarkeit der Konsole symbolisieren. Die Herstellung der Spielkonsole wurde 2001 eingestellt, bis heute erscheinen neue Spiele, die von Fans programmiert werden ("Homebrew"). Als Spielkonsole konkurrierte die Dreamcast mit der PlayStation 2 und dem Nintendo GameCube.
